GNOM

Per-axle load sensors for trucks with air or leaf-spring suspension. Pre-bridge overload alerts before the weighbridge catches you — and the fine is multiple times the install cost. Wired analog or wireless BLE, two suspension types, four SKUs covering the whole fleet.

How it works

Two suspension types, one measurement principle: more load, more deflection.

Trucks deform their suspension under load — predictably and measurably. On air suspension, load translates directly to air pressure in the bag. On leaf spring, load translates to deflection geometry of the leaf. GNOM measures the right thing for each: a pressure sensor (DDE) on air systems, a position sensor (DP) on leaf systems. Both calibrate against the vehicle's actual weighed loads to give per-axle mass in kilograms.

  1. Pick the variant matching your suspension — GNOM DDE for air, GNOM DP for leaf spring. Wireless BLE variants (S7) available for both.
  2. Install per axle — DDE clamps onto the air line, DP attaches at the leaf-spring linkage. One sensor per monitored axle.
  3. Calibrate to known weights — drive over a weighbridge with empty, partial, and full loads. Calibration table built per vehicle, persists in your telematics platform.
  4. Stream per-axle weight — your gateway reads the analog/CAN/BLE signal and converts to kg via the calibration table. Pre-trip and pre-bridge alerts fire automatically when any axle exceeds the configured limit.

Variants

Two suspension types × two connection methods — four SKUs.

All GNOM sensors share the same calibration-to-weight logic. Pick the suspension type (air or leaf spring) and connection method (wired or wireless BLE).

GNOM DDE
Air suspension · most common

GNOM DDE

Analog 0–10V · CAN J1939

Pressure sensor for air-suspension trucks. Inline with the air bag — no moving parts, immune to road vibration. Outputs analog 0–10V or CAN J1939. The most common configuration on modern EU trucks (Volvo, Mercedes, MAN, Scania, DAF, Iveco).

GNOM DP
Leaf spring

GNOM DP

Analog 0–10V

Position sensor for leaf-spring trucks. Mounts at the leaf-spring linkage and measures deflection geometry. Analog output. Best for older trucks, heavy-haul, dump trucks, agricultural towed equipment.

GNOM DDE S7
Air · wireless BLE

GNOM DDE S7

Bluetooth LE · 3-year battery

Wireless BLE variant of the DDE. Runs on a 3-year built-in battery — no wiring needed. Ideal for trailers with no power, rental fleets, and retrofits. Pairs with any S7-compatible telematics gateway.

GNOM DP S7
Leaf spring · wireless BLE

GNOM DP S7

Bluetooth LE · 3-year battery

Wireless BLE variant of the DP. Same 3-year battery, no cable runs. Install on leaf-spring trailers, older trucks, or any axle where running a wire is impractical.

Main features

Per-axle weight to ±50 kg. Pre-bridge alert before the fine.

Pre-bridge overload alert

Alerts the driver and fleet manager before any bridge or weighbridge crossing when an axle load exceeds the configured limit. A single EU overload fine covers the cost of GNOM on an entire axle set — and one bridge crossing can produce two fines simultaneously.

Air and leaf spring in one range

GNOM DDE (pressure transducer, air suspension) and GNOM DP (position sensor, leaf spring) cover every major truck type in service today. Same telematics output, same calibration logic — different installation points.

3-year wireless BLE option

S7 variants eliminate cable runs entirely. A 3-year built-in battery powers the sensor; Bluetooth LE streams data to a compatible gateway in range. Ideal for trailers, rental vehicles, and retrofits where wiring is impractical or gets cut.

One-time per-vehicle calibration

Drive over a weighbridge with three known loads (empty, partial, full) to build the calibration table. Stored in your telematics platform per vehicle — no recalibration needed unless the suspension is modified.

Multi-vehicle fleet? Avoid overload fines before the next bridge crossing.

A Wagencontrol engineer reviews your fleet's suspension mix, recommends sensor variants per vehicle type, and quotes the install. Usually responds within 4h on EU business hours.
