DUT-E GSM, apart from being a full-fledged fuel level sensor, is also equipped with GPS and GSM modules already inside. Such sensor provides 24/7 control of fuel tank, detects all refueling and unauthorized fuel drainings (aka fuel theft), extensive data on fuel use of an individual vehicle and if used on a whole fleet, possibility of in-depth analysis of fuel-related operations to optimize fuel consumption.

Functionality and possible applications

Fuel level sensor DUT-E is designed for precision fuel level measurement in all kinds of vehicle tanks, also in tanks of fixed installations.

DUT-E can be used as a part of a fuel monitoring system or to substitute the standard fuel meter of a vehicle.A wide variety of output types provides seamless integration and additional data on patterns of fuel use.

Philosophy and principles behind the sensor

For every telematics company installation of devices is one of the most expensive and difficult parts of business – it requires experienced technicians, lots of cooperation from customer to set time for installation, each vehicle has differences, so additional time is spent on planning: how and where to install, lay cabling around, connect and secure tracker properly.This can be even harder when additional sensors are required – you need to install both the tracker and the sensor, and then – provide secure connection between them, and it might take vehicle out of operation for a longer time, and simultaneously – the whole installation becomes more expensive to the end-user.
An ideal situation would have been sensor that does not require external GPS tracker to work – that has a GPS tracker inside itself. And we think we have done just that – meet our new product, DUT-E GSM, that apart from being a full-fledged fuel level sensor, also has GPS and GSM modules already inside.

Such sensor provides 24/7 control of fuel tank, detecting all refueling and unauthorized fuel draining (aka fuel theft), extensive data on fuel use of individual vehicle and if used on the whole fleet, possibility of in-depth analysis of fuel-related operations to optimize fuel consumption.

On top of that – sensor provides your regular good old GPS tracking – location, speed, routes etc – even though it is located on top of the fuel tank, usually covered by a trailer. Rebuts design provides protection from elements and 3-d party interference.

Also, sensor is ideal for stand-alone applications – remote fuel tanks, diesel generators and alike. No need in a separate device (GSM gateway), no additional wires – just the sensor, doing all the job. Such solution is great for fuel distribution companies, that provide heating fuel to individual homes and businesses. In one application – all fuel tanks of all clients, with data how much is left and when refuel might be necessary, with a map for a greater planning of distribution.

Any tracking software, able to work with GPS tracker, can be adjusted to work with DUT-E GSM, it shares same principles and uses same communication protocols as regular GPS trackers.
